Last Friday, CIS hosted the 2nd annual EduCanada University Fair where nine universities from Canada connected with students from all over Cayman. A representative from the Cayman Islands Education Department also showcased the local Cayman scholarship. CIS students, as well as students from St. Ignatius, Cayman Prep, Triple C, John Gray High School, and Clifton Hunter participated in the fair, learning about educational opportunities in Canada that fit their passions. Visits from universities here in Cayman are vital to our secondary students' futures as they open the door to further educational possibilities. The decision to move around the world for university can be an intimidating choice, so having the opportunity to speak face to face with experts from those universities makes finding the right fit easier for our students. For university and guidance counselors, this was also a great networking opportunity.
As the University and High School counselor at CIS, I am thrilled to have been able to offer this fair to our students. I hope to continue this partnership with EduCanada and our Canadian Universities. I am also delighted to see 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders exploring their options for after graduating from CIS. A special thank you goes out to our PR team and our facilities crew at CIS for making this event possible.
