This past Thursday, October 5th, Cayman International School hosted the Conyers Inter-Schools Debate. CIS, Saint Ignatius Catholic School, John Gray High School, Clifton Hunter, Grace Christian Academy, and Layman E. Scott Brac High School were all in attendance. The debaters disputed the ever timely, and equally controversial, question whether, “Donald Trump is good for the American political process”, along with an impromptu debate with only 15 minutes to prepare. Cayman International School students, ranging from grades nine to eleven, vigorously prepared for weeks and were extremely successful. Maryn McCoombs, Marin Hughes, Alia Smith, Tahiti Seymour, Cristin Jackson, and Ethan Incledon were all in participation representing Cayman International School. In the open division Richard Weber took 1st place, followed by Sadie Finch in 2nd, Charles-Antoine Sokohl in 7th place, and Simon Dignan in 8th place. Richard Weber and Charles-Antoine Sokohl respectfully won team runner-up in the tournament. Congratulations to all participants and award winners!
