The inaugural middle school sports day was held at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex on Wednesday and was a huge success! Some of our students experienced running on a track for the first time as they competed in their choice of 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 800m and 1500m events. Students also had the opportunity to compete in long jump and shot put events. The students were amazing, pushing themselves and each other to strive for their best, even in the hot conditions. The Booster Club provided students with much-needed fruit and water and had a concession stand available for students to purchase healthy treats and snacks.
The event finished with homerooms competing against each other in the 4x100m relay. Special mention must go to Mr. Peyton's Grade 6 boys for their fantastic relay race!
Ms. Haley's homeroom were the overall winners of the day and will receive free choice for their PE lessons next week.
Students selected to represent CIS at the PSA track and field meet in December will be announced next week.
