On Wednesday, January 10th, CIS held its first ever ‘PLE Showcase’. PLE (Personalized Learning Elective) is a new course at CIS, which focuses on allowing students to pursue their passions by learning a new skill or tackling a problem that they care about. The key component, and what makes this course exciting, is that they must choose for themselves what they will learn and how they will learn it.
Over the course of the semester, students learned new skills as diverse as origami, screen printing, film editing, short story writing, cooking, scuba diving, and liberty training. At the final showcase, students presented their final achievements to the entire High School, and answered questions about their learning journey over the preceding weeks.
The showcase was a big success, and several students have chosen to take the course again so that they can continue to pursue their passions here at CIS. Congratulations to our first cohort!
