The school library media center strives to provide students with a wide range of educational materials on all levels of difficulty and in a variety of formats. Students are given 10 minutes at the end of each class to check out books. Patrons with no overdue or lost items may check out items according to the guidelines:
- Pre-K4: 1 book
- Kindergarten: 1 book for the first half of the year (picture books), 2 during the second half (1 leveled reader, 1 book of choice)
Both Pre-K4 and Kindergarten receive a plastic book bag at the beginning of the year to carry their books back and forth to protect the books from spills and damages. They are responsible for remembering it weekly.
- Grades 1-5: 2 books (not including novel studies and books for classroom projects)
- Grades 6 and up: 2 fiction books, 3 non-fiction (excluding novel studies)
- Parents: 2 books per child
- Textbooks are not included in checkout limitations
Books are typically checked out for 1 week. All loans can be renewed. Items, which are on loan, can be reserved and suggestions for new titles are always welcome.
There will be no fines charged for overdue items, however, they should be returned as soon as possible. No other books will be issued until the overdue item has been returned.
If a book is lost or damaged, then it must be paid for in full.
